Anish Gawande has always been quick on his feet and slow to anger. That’s probably why  he has always been in the advocacy space, a decade before moving to politics. He formally joined a party back in 2024, when he was named the spokesperson for NCP (SP) party. We met Gawande a year before that in 2023 when he had started work on Pink List India — India’s first archive of politicians supporting LGBTQIA+.

Three years since and Gawande bears the same articulate and unshakeable resolve when he is now often attacked by opposing political parties.  Speaking to us about his journey, he reveals he knew that this was not a temp job for lack of a better word.
