A 400-metric-tonne crane deployed for Metro Line 2B construction developed a technical snag near JVPD Junction on Thursday morning, triggering a massive traffic jam at Juhu Circle and causing a backlog of nearly 1.5 km. The congestion severely affected the morning school commute, with residents claiming several students reached school more than an hour late.

Jotmani said the school gave an exemption to students affected. LOCA also informed the traffic police about the issue. He added that ongoing infrastructure work related to Metro Line 2B has been contributing to traffic problems in the area.
