With heavy rains triggering flood-like conditions across several parts of Maharashtra, the state’s health department has been placed on high alert to ensure uninterrupted medical services, Public Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr Prakash Abitkar said on Tuesday.

Chairing a state-level emergency meeting at Arogya Bhavan, Ambitkar reviewed the preparedness of the department and directed all senior officials to stay in “alert mode”. Health officers from Akola, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Nashik, and Latur divisions attended the meeting via video-conferencing.
