Maharashtra government announces protection, rehabilitation for eligible pre-2011 slum residents

The Maharashtra government on Thursday has announced that all the slum dwellings constructed before January 1, 2011, on government, forest, and various Central and state government authority lands will be protected, along with their eligible occupants

In an official statement, the Maharashtra government said that the occupants will be rehabilitated appropriately through SRA (Slum Rehabilitation Authority), MHADA, or other housing schemes.
