IMD warns of heavy to extremely heavy rainfall in Maharashtra from July 3-7; flood alert issued

According to the latest weather bulletin, an offshore trough extending from Maharashtra to the Karnataka coast, a low-pressure area over the northwest Bay of Bengal, and an active shear zone around 21 degrees North are driving the intensified monsoon conditions over the region

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast an increase in rainfall activity across Maharashtra between July 3 and July 7, warning of heavy to extremely heavy showers in several regions of the state.
