Leopard attack leaves 8-year-old dead near Thane district

An eight-year-old boy was killed in a leopard attack near Kalbhonda village in Thane’s Kasara region. The incident occurred while the child was collecting mangoes in a forest area. Officials have launched a search operation, installed camera traps, and intensified patrolling to prevent more attacks

In yet another human-wildlife conflict, an eight-year-old boy lost his life after a leopard attacked the minor in a forested area near Kalbhonda village under the Dolkhamb range, close to Kasara in Thane district, Maharashtra. 

The unfortunate incident happened on Tuesday morning, following which the authorities were alerted. According to the Maharashtra Forest Department, the victim has been identified as Krishna Agivale. He had ventured into a forest patch within Survey No 86 around 10.30 am on Tuesday to collect mangoes along with a family member when the attack occurred.
