Maharashtra | Dealers supplying vehicles to unauthorised sellers may lose trade certificates: Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik

A vast network of unauthorised vehicle sellers has reportedly emerged across Maharashtra. These outlets operate without contributing any revenue to the state, and often sell new vehicles, brought in from other states or departments, without holding valid trade certificates

Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik has directed the Transport Commissioner to cancel the trade certificates of authorised vehicle dealers found supplying vehicles to unauthorised sellers, such as multi-brand outlets (MBOs), across Maharashtra. The directive was issued during a meeting with the Automobile Dealers Federation.

The meeting was attended by Transport Commissioner Vivek Bhimanwar, Joint Secretary (Transport) Rajendra Holkar, Federation President Sachin Mahajan, and other key officials and office-bearers from across the state.
