The Bharatiya Janata Party&rsquo;s (BJP) has expanded it <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/mumbai-bmc-cops-carry-out-massive-demolition-drive-along-ghatkopar-mankhurd-link-road-1200-illegal-structures-removed-23624765" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Mumbai</a> 'Mahila Morcha' team, announcing a list of 33 newly appointed members.
In a post on X, BJP Mumbai announced the new office-bearers and executive committee of its Mahila Morcha.
According to the post, the appointments were made under the guidance of Mumbai BJP President Ameet Satam. The announcement was formally made by Mahila Morcha President Yojana Thokale.
The newly formed team is expected to play a key role in strengthening the party&rsquo;s women&rsquo;s wing in Mumbai, particularly in organisational activities and outreach programmes.

The party extended its congratulations to all the newly appointed office-bearers, expressing confidence in their ability to contribute effectively to the <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/news/india-news/article/west-asia-war-aisplb-calls-iran-a-superpower-says-ceasefire-proves-it-didnt-bow-to-us-israel-pressure-23624798" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">organisation</a>&rsquo;s growth and initiatives.
<h2>Congress says BJP didn't approach it to seek withdrawal of Baramati bypoll</h2>
Meanwhile, Maharashtra Congress denied reports suggesting that leaders from the Bharatiya Janata Party had approached it to withdraw its candidate from the upcoming <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/row-over-congress-fielding-candidate-for-baramati-bypoll-unnecessary-harshwardhan-sapkal-23624599" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Baramati</a> assembly bypoll. The party described such claims as &ldquo;false, misleading, and baseless,&rdquo; accusing the BJP of spreading misinformation for political purposes, reported PTI.
In an official statement, Congress leaders clarified that no discussions or communications had taken place between the two parties regarding the withdrawal of its nominee. The party emphasised that reports claiming otherwise were &ldquo;incorrect and devoid of facts.&rdquo;
The Congress further alleged that the rumours were deliberately circulated to create confusion among political allies, particularly targeting the <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/news/india-news/article/alliance-tensions-resurface-as-congress-fields-candidate-against-sunetra-pawar-in-baramati-by-election-23624441" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">NCP</a>, reported PTI.
The Baramati assembly seat fell vacant following the death of senior leader Ajit Pawar in a plane crash on January 28. The bypoll is scheduled for April 23, with counting set for May 4.
Ajit Pawar&rsquo;s wife, Sunetra Pawar, who assumed the role of deputy chief minister and also became president of the NCP after his passing, is contesting the election as the candidate of the ruling Mahayuti alliance.
