The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday issued a 'yellow' alert for several districts in Maharashtra, warning of light spells of rain and thunderstorms with gusty winds over the next few hours.

According to the IMD’s nowcast bulletin issued at 7:00 am, the alert — valid for the next three hours — covers Jalgaon, Dhule, Nashik, Palghar, Thane, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Kolhapur, Sangli, Mumbai City, Mumbai Suburban, and Pune districts.
