Devendra Fadnavis pays last respects to Asha Bhosle, state honours for last rites

The veteran singer, a recipient of the Padma Vibhushan and Maharashtra Bhushan, passed away at Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital at the age of 92

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Sunday paid his last respects to legendary playback singer Asha Bhosle, whose mortal remains were brought to her residence in Mumbai earlier in the day.

Visuals from the location showed an ambulance carrying the singer’s mortal remains arriving at her residence, followed by police vehicles. Security arrangements were tightened as the Chief Minister arrived to offer his tributes.
