Central Railway adds escalators, lifts, and more than 2,000 upgraded fixtures across Mumbai division stations

The division has installed four new escalators, two each at Kasara and Badlapur, and commissioned two lifts at Vangani and Badlapur stations. The upgraded facilities are expected to significantly ease movement for senior citizens, pregnant women, Divyangjan, and passengers carrying heavy luggage

The Mumbai division of Central Railway has rolled out a series of passenger amenity upgrades across key stations, adding new escalators, lifts, fans, LED lights and digital display systems in January 2026.

The division has installed four new escalators, two each at Kasara and Badlapur, and commissioned two lifts at Vangani and Badlapur stations.
