As Opposition parties continue to voice their objections against the Maharashtra government's plan to introduce Hindi as a third language in schools, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP-SP) leader Supriya Sule on Saturday affirmed the party's participation in the protest to be held on July 5, jointly organised by Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) and Shiv Sena (UBT), reported news agency ANI.

Sule described language education as an "important social issue" and criticised the state government for what she termed as an "attempt to spoil the future of children," reported ANI.

The Maharashtra government is planning to make Hindi compulsory up to Class 4 under the 'Three Language Policy.' This move has been previously slammed by other opposition leaders, including NCP-SCP chief Sharadchandra Pawar and Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut.
