While the INC (Indian National Congress) candidate secured 5197 votes, her opponent, Jyoti Upadhyay from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), crept close with 5190 votes

Santacruz East witnessed a close contest as the counting for the BMC polls ended, in which Congress’s Tulip Miranda emerged victorious in Kalina (ward No. 90) with a narrow lead of seven votes.
