The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) core committee, chaired by party president and Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar, on Wednesday decided that its ministers and legislators would meet Chief Minister (CM) Devendra Fadnavis after Diwali to seek the speedy completion of the ongoing Criminal Investigation Department (CID) probe into the death of Ajit Pawar in a plane crash in Baramati on January 28, news agency IANS reported.
The party will also renew its demand for a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry into the crash. The move is aimed, in part, at preventing the Opposition, particularly NCP (SP) legislator Rohit Pawar, from repeatedly raising questions over the pace of the investigation and accusing the Fadnavis government of delaying its completion.
