19-year-old Kalyan student dies by suicide, father alleges he was assaulted in local train for not speaking Marathi

According to the complaint filed by his father, the student was allegedly beaten up by a few young men in the train while travelling to his college in Mulund area of Mumbai

A 19-year-old college student died by suicide on Wednesday evening in Teesgaon Naka area of Kalyan East in Maharashtra and his father has alleged he took the extreme step after being assaulted in local train for not speaking Marathi, officials said on Thursday.

According to the complaint filed by his father, the student was allegedly beaten up by a few young men while travelling to his college in Mulund.
