A teacher from the coal hub of Dhanbad in Jharkhand is among 82 teachers and educators who received the coveted National Teachers' Award presented by President Droupadi Murmu in Delhi on Saturday, coinciding with Teachers' Day, observed on September 5 in India every year, to honour the birthday of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, who was not only a teacher and philosopher but a former Indian President.

Munmun Bhattacharya (42), headmistress of Government Middle School in Barmasia, Dhanbad was the only teacher from Jharkhand selected for the award, a notification issued by the Ministry of Education said.
