Shahneel was born on December 16, 1997, in Fazilka, Punjab. She spent her early years in the state and completed her schooling in Mohali.

According to several reports, she later graduated from DAV College for Women in Chandigarh. After completing her graduation, Shahneel moved to Canada to continue her studies.

According to details available about her educational background, Shahneel reportedly studied Business Administration at Red River College Polytechnic in Winnipeg, Canada.

According to her reported LinkedIn history, she worked as a Success Consultant at Canadian food-delivery company SkipTheDishes.

Shahneel has since carved out her own space online, sharing travel, fashion, fitness and lifestyle posts on Instagram.

Shahneel is the sister of cricketer Shubman Gill. During matches, she is often seen supporting him from the stands. She also shares a friendship with Sara Tendulkar.

Talking about her parents, her father, Lakhwinder Singh Gill, is an agriculturist and farmer from Fazilka, Punjab, while her mother is a homemaker.

In an earlier Gujarat Titans video, she spoke about growing up with Shubman and described him as her best friend during their childhood.

She is among the contestants participating in the second season of The Traitors.
