In Lust Stories 3, Radhikka Madan plays Sailee, a flawed woman navigating the emotional complexities of an estranged marriage. The actor says the character and Shakun Batra’s script were among the reasons she wanted to be part of the anthology. In an exclusive chat with mid-day, Madan also spoke about women’s desire on screen, the scrutiny women face in relationships and her approach to choosing roles.

On playing Sailee and what she looks for in a relationship

Radhikka Madan says she was drawn to Lust Stories 3 because of the script and the opportunity to work with director Shakun Batra, which had long been on her list. She adds that she particularly loved how flawed her character Sailee is, as well as Ali’s character. Talking about relationships, Madan says accepting one’s own flaws is key to letting go of the idea of a perfect partner. “It’s the idea of a perfect man that kills us,” she says, adding that she values empathy, respect, passion and kindness in a partner.
