Exclusive | Arti Singh recalls Krushna Abhishek’s first Raksha Bandhan together: ‘He was only 17 and took a flight to Lucknow’

Raksha Bandhan is one of the most celebrated festivals across the country bringing siblings together to celebrate their bond of love protection and togetherness For Arti Singh this yearrsquos celebration holds special significance as her brother Krushna Abhishek will be with her in person for the festivalIn an exclusive conversation with midday Arti opened up about celebrating Raksha Bandhan with Krushna recalling some of their most memorable moments and sharing how their bond has evolved over the yearsArti Singh on missing Krushna Abhishek on RakhiTalking about this yearrsquos celebration Arti said ldquoI am very excited because last year Krishna wasnt here This time he is here So I am happy This time in person I will be able to tie the Rakhirdquo For Arti the most important Raksha Bandhan ritual is simply being together She explained that despite their busy schedules they make it a point to spend the special day with each otherldquoWe try to be there for each other at least in person I think that is the most important thing that we are together on this important dayrdquo she said adding ldquoI think thats the most important thing that we need to be together on the same day and then at least lunch or dinner we both are together That is one ritual we do follow Its mandatory Its like its my demand or maybe whatever it isrdquoSpeaking about how their relationship has changed over the years Arti said that things have only become better ldquoNothing has changed In a better way it has changed It has become better because obviously we are like nothing has changed actually because we are just 10 minutes away living from each otherrdquoWhile Arti acknowledged that there has been a period when the siblings were away from each other she believes that distance has made their time together even more meaningfulldquoObviously there is this lack but I also feel that we cherish this time more than that because at least we are together and we need the most of itrdquo she said Recalling their years apart she added ldquoI know that we have been away from each other for a long time Like today only I sent him a photograph of our first Rakhi So you know its okay I mean at least now we are together and at least we are in a good space with each other That is more importantrdquoArti Singh recalls her first Raksha Bandhan with KrushnaAmong all her Raksha Bandhan memories one incident from their teenage years remains particularly close to Artirsquos heart She recalled how Krushna once travelled all the way to Lucknow simply to tie rakhi to her ldquoHe came to Lucknow just like he took a flight and he was just 17 or something He just came and he said that my sister is there and I just want to go and tie the Rakhi to herrdquo she recalledKrushna stayed with her for two or three days making the gesture even more memorable Arti said ldquoI think thats the most memorable thing because he had also just turned 17 and I was like I dont know 17 bhi nahi 1516 I think And 2 years younger to him So sweet of him I think thats the most memorable Rakhi for me That he came all the wayrdquoAnother emotional memory revolves around a chain Krushna gifted her Arti remembered how he gave her the only chain he had with him at the time ldquoHe had one chain which he gifted to me and the thing is that he had only that one chain and he was wearing it He took that chain out from his neck and gave it to merdquo she said Explaining why the gesture meant so much to her Arti added ldquoBecause he says that if you have 10 things then you give one of them to him But you have to have only one thing and that one thing you give to your person it means a lotrdquoHowever when asked about the one wish Krushna genuinely wanted for her Arti revealed that her brother has always wanted to see her married to a good man and a good family ldquoHe really wanted me to get married And to a nice guy I think thats the most important wish I would have like made it happen for him and everybody in the family to be very honestrdquo she saidFor Arti though everything else is secondary ldquoOtherwise everything is materialistic It doesnt matter But this is one thing he really wanted me to be married to a good man and good familyrdquo
