In our special series 'Be My Guest', Pankhuri Awasthy Rode from 'Maddam Sir' takes us into husband Gautam Rode and her private space and gives us a peek into what went into making her beautiful, serene house.
What's your favourite spot in the house? My favourite spot is a low seating corner, my painting area. It&rsquo;s a cosy spot.
How did you design this area? I am a big fan of low seating areas. Although there wasn&rsquo;t any nook or corner, it somehow came to my mind. It&rsquo;s within the living area but it&rsquo;s a little space in itself.

How did you choose a colour scheme? Neutral colours. We have kept it slightly textured with off-white, gold and green. The rest of the house has wooden d&eacute;cor.
What's your favourite decor item? I like real flowers, when I put them in a corner, it really lights up the house. I like the vibe of plants being there.
What's an ideal day off at home for you? Waking up late, having lunch and dinner in bed! If I&rsquo;m not shooting the next day I&rsquo;d like to go out with Gautam (husband) and some friends and then sleep some more.
What's the most important aspect while deciding about a house? Sunlight! I choose my space according to that and also Vastu Shastra.
If one ever visits your home, the one thing they will be treated to... Whatever the guests like! I&rsquo;d be more than happy to serve what they wish for. If I don&rsquo;t have it I&rsquo;ll order it for them. I like to always be prepared. The one item that you will always find in my pantry is Stacks or Maggi and Oreo biscuits. I like to bake mud cakes with Oreos.
A series you're currently binging on when at home?
I just finished 'Money Heist' but I&rsquo;m currently watching 'Lost in Space'.
Your favourite gadgets at home The only gadget I use the most is my phone.
