CID continues to be one of Indian television’s most popular shows. After building a massive fan following for over two decades, the crime thriller series drew its curtains in 2025, leaving many heartbroken. The show premiered on Sony Entertainment Television in 1998, and shortly became a household favourite. The show ended its two-decade-long run in 2018, before returning for a second season in 2024, which unfortunately ended in 2025. 

Dayanand Shetty reveals Lata Mangeshkar supported the show

Now, in a latest interview with Siddharth Kannan, Dayanand Shetty, who played Inspector Daya in CID, revealed how late legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar was a huge fan of the show. He added that she even fought to save the show when it was pulled off air.
