Vijay Sethupathi recently confirmed that a sequel to his 2024 film Maharaja is in development. The news comes after the makers recently announced that a Hollywood remake of the film is in the works. The actor added that director Nithilan Saminathan has already narrated the story of the sequel to him. He further opened up about the Hollywood remake, saying he is ready to star in it without charging a fee.

Vijay Sethupathi confirms Maharaja sequel

During a recent audio launch event of Baththa, Vijay Sethupathi shared an update about his next collaboration. He added that he was impressed by the story which the director has written for the sequel. "Nithilan is an excellent director. He has a great writing sense. He recently told me the story of Maharaja 2. It was so beautiful. Working with him was superb," Vijay Sethupathi said.
