Actor-turned-politician Vijay has reiterated his commitment to public service, saying he has “thrown away” his luxurious life to enter politics and serve the people. Addressing a massive crowd after filing his nomination for the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, the Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) chief urged voters to support his party and give it a chance to govern.

Speaking from his campaign vehicle, Vijay struck an emotional chord with supporters, emphasising that his political journey is rooted in gratitude and responsibility. “I have thrown away my rich life and come here only to repay you,” he said, underlining his decision to step away from a successful film career and dedicate himself fully to politics.
