Mammootty is set to make a powerful return to Tamil cinema with Om- Chapter 1: Udhiram- The Blood Wood, and the makers have now unveiled his character. On the occasion of the veteran actor’s 75th birthday, a character-reveal video introduced him as Burma Karthikeyan, also known as Siya or The Elder One. The glimpse presents Mammootty in a rugged, mass avatar with shades of grey.

In the upcoming action thriller, Burma Karthikeyan is portrayed as a respected smuggler who commands considerable influence among both locals and the police. However, the character appears to be more layered than a conventional criminal. The reveal suggests that despite his involvement in smuggling, Siya has earned the trust and respect of the people around him.
