The controversy surrounding the leak of Jana Nayagan has taken a fresh turn. After months following the leak, the Tamil Nadu Cyber Crime Wing has arrested the alleged mastermind behind the online circulation of footage from Vijay's much-delayed film. Notably, the film was leaked in April 2026, following which the authorities have already made as many as 18 arrests in the matter.

A new report in The New Indian Express mentions that the alleged mastermind behind the leak and online circulation of Jana Nayagan was arrested by the Tamil Nadu Cyber Crime Wing. According to the authorities, the main accused had been absconding and was tracked down with "extensive digital forensic analysis, technical surveillance and intelligence-led operations."
