Helpful, but hands off
Artificial Intelligence (AI) may be a filmmaker’s handy assistant, but SS Rajamouli is not ready to let it take over the creative process. Calling AI a “fantastic assistant”, the filmmaker said it can significantly speed up research and development, turning tasks that once took weeks or months into ones completed in hours. Yet, he remains cautious about generative AI. “When it comes to generative AI, I remain skeptical,” he said while speaking to students at Georgia University. On the work front, Rajamouli’s next movie is the global action-adventure epic Varanasi, scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on April 7, 2027.It stars Priyanka Chopra and Mahesh Babu.
