Following an unforeseen break in February, actor and director Dev Patel has resumed the shoot of ‘The Peasant’ in Mumbai. Sources close to the production have told us that the team has already completed a two-week schedule of the revenge drama in the city.
An insider revealed, “Dev returned to the set in the first week of March. Since then, it has been all work as we filmed many emotionally heavy sequences.”
Next on the planner is a 10-day leg in Rajasthan, as Patel tells the story of a 14th century shepherd in India, hell-bent on seeking revenge against mercenary knights who ransacked his village. The insider revealed that Jaisalmer and Jodhpur are the locations that have been finalised. “The team will shoot across multiple locations, the landscape ranging from villages to deserts and heritage properties. The Mumbai leg focused more on interior and controlled set-ups, but Rajasthan is where the movie will visually open up.”
