Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey has finally hit the screens amid much anticipation to a thundering response among fans. On its opening day, the film has earned over Rs 17 crore in India across languages

Filmmaker Christopher Nolan’s much-awaited film The Odyssey, starring Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Tom Holland, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Charlize Theron, and Jon Bernthal, finally hit theatres on July 17, 2026. The epic based on Homer's Odysseus has opened to overwhelmingly positive reviews from both critics and audiences. The response was seen at the box office too as the film opened to a flying start.
The Odyssey opens to Rs 17 crore in India
According to trade website Sacnilk, The Odyssey had a strong debut at the Indian box office, earning an estimated Rs 17.40 crore net (Rs 20.76 crore gross) on its opening day. Directed by Christopher Nolan, the film was screened across 8,413 shows nationwide, registering an overall occupancy of 48.7 per cent. The premium formats, specifically IMAX, are witnessing remarkable demand.
