Some survival films make the wilderness the biggest threat, while others make you more invested in the bond between two survivors than in whether they will actually make it out. Heart of the Beast falls somewhere in between. Brad Pitt leads this survival film, but it is his three-legged co-star Odin who quietly ends up stealing the show.

The film follows James Belmont (Brad Pitt), a retired Special Forces soldier, and Odin, his former combat dog, who are stranded in the Alaskan wilderness with no easy way out; the two must navigate the harsh wilderness, battling the elements and dangerous animals as they try to find their way back to safety.
