The plastic fantastic may not be making a comeback just yet. A potential sequel to Greta Gerwig’s blockbuster Barbie is reportedly facing an uncertain future, with stalled negotiations between Warner Bros. and the film’s creative team putting the project at risk of being shelved.

The 2023 film, starring Margot Robbie as Barbie and Ryan Gosling as Ken, became a global phenomenon, earning around USD 1.4 billion worldwide and becoming the highest-grossing film directed by a woman at the time.
