When a supporting role in the Hollywood indie production A Mosquito in the Ear came Sanya Sagar’s way, she was instantly drawn to the story. While shooting for Nicola Rinciari’s directorial feature was a treasured experience, the actor holds something else dearer — the opportunity to work with Iranian-British actor Nazanin Boniadi.
“We all know how fearlessly Nazanin speaks about women and the ill-treatment of Iranian youth. She is not just aware and sensitive about these issues, but also takes a stand. Nazanin’s stand inspires me for one important reason — when you have a platform and a position in the world where you can speak up and make a change, you should not chicken out,” said Sagar, deeply impressed by how the actor has used her celebrity status to fight for women’s rights.
