In an unusual instance of Instagram flagging a video for removal, filmmaker Yasmin Kidwai has alleged that Meta took down a clip featuring Shah Rukh Khan from her 30-minute documentary, Filmisthaan – The Euphoric State of Bollywood (2017). The independent documentary filmmaker said the excerpt featured Khan speaking about the beauty of India’s diversity. She shared the clip on November 2, the actor’s 61st birthday.

Kidwai questioned the platform’s decision, saying, “Why am I getting censored? [It is imperative] to ask Instagram why they removed the clip of Shah Rukh Khan from my documentary?”
