Filmmaker Sanjay Gupta has quashed rumours that Irrfan Khan replaced John Abraham in his forthcoming film &ldquo;Jazbaa&rdquo;, saying that John was never cast for the role.

&ldquo;We never cast John Abraham for 'Jazbaa'. Those were rumours,&rdquo; Gupta said while interacting with twitterati during a live chat session for a media house.
According to reports, John was supposed to play the male lead in the film, but things took a different turn when Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was finalised for the female lead. Gupta asserted that these were &ldquo;rumours&rdquo;.
"Jazbaa", a remake of a Korean film, also features Shabana Azmi and is scheduled to release on October 9.
Gupta also noted that he wants to bring a &ldquo;violent love story&rdquo; alive on the silver screen.
&ldquo;If I find an exciting script, would love to do a violent love story. Best family drama to me is Mahabharat,&rdquo; he said.
