After years of a much-publicised fallout over Devdas (2002), Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Kareena Kapoor Khan may finally be heading towards their first collaboration. The filmmaker has approached the actor to play the female lead opposite Dhanush in his upcoming mythological jungle-set saga, which will be directed by S Mithran. The director has dropped an update about the collaboration.

In an interview with Cinema Vikatan, Mithran confirmed being in talks with Kareena and Dhanush. He said, “Talks are underway; we are looking at the dates for confirmation. Hopefully, something good will come out of it.” Mithran has directed films like Irumbu Thirai (2018), Hero (2019), and Sardar (2022). If everything falls into place, this project will mark Kareena’s first collaboration with Bhansali after their reported fallout in the 2000s.
