After months of excitement and anticipation, Ramayana has finally hit the theatres, and the Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash starrer has made a solid start at the box office. The two-part epic, directed by Nitesh Tiwari and backed by Namit Malhotra, was released worldwide on Thursday, November 5, ahead of the Diwali weekend. The film started on a solid note and surpassed the opening day numbers of Adipurush and Dhurandhar.

Advance bookings for Ramayana opened on Dussehra, 15 days ahead of its release. However, pre-sales gained momentum only after exhibitors and distributors resolved their disagreement last week. By the time the film hit theatres, it had sold tickets worth Rs 200 crore worldwide, with over Rs 120 crore coming from India. The film's opening day advance bookings alone contributed Rs 45 crore in gross collections domestically, indicating a positive start at the box office.
