The Satya director has shared multiple posts on X applauding the film and director Aditya Dhar’s craft. He is now openly rooting for the sequel, Dhurandhar 2, which is set to release in theatres on March 19, 2026.

Dhurandhar 2 will clash at the box office with Yash-starrer Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups, which also features Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, and Kiara Advani. Ahead of the high-stakes showdown, Varma has clearly picked his side—and there are no surprises. In a recent post, he hinted that Toxic may not stand a chance against Dhurandhar 2 in terms of box office numbers.
