Actor and host Maniesh Paul recently recalled being asked to mock Katrina Kaif's Hindi during an awards show. However, Maniesh directly refused to make jokes about the actress and instead assured the organisers that he could use some funny punchlines without making anyone feel awkward. For the unversed, Maniesh and Katrina worked together in the 2010 action-comedy film Tees Maar Khan.

In an interview with Zoom TV, Maniesh recounted how Katrina would come to his award shows and feel at ease with him because he never joked about her Hindi. "Jab main un dino bahut hosting kar raha tha, toh Katrina, every award night, she would come. And she would feel comfortable when I would be there. Why? Kyunki maine kabhi unki Hindi ka mazaak nahi banaya," he said.
