Mamta Child Factory fails to get CBFC certification, makers opt for direct OTT release

The makers of Mamta Child Factory, stalled by CBFC’s questions and delays despite a resubmission, have decided to skip a theatrical release. With no progress on certification, the film will now stream directly on Ultra Play

In late October, mid-day reported that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) questioned Mamta Child Factory’s originality and asked the makers to resubmit the film to the Examining Committee (Calling the CBFC’s bluff, Oct 30). While director Mohsin Khan had resubmitted his movie and was assured of another screening with the CBFC, there was no progress on the matter. Now, tired of the long wait, the film’s team has decided to skip theatres and stream it directly on Ultra Play.
