Filmmaker Rohit Shetty may have given Bollywood its own cop universe, but his next — an adaptation of former Mumbai police commissioner Rakesh Maria’s autobiography, Let Me Say It Now — may be his most critical cop actioner. mid-day has learnt that Shetty and John Abraham, after over a month-long break, kicked off the film’s second schedule on July 7 at a college in Fort. The yet-untitled movie had rolled in April (Maria’s Mumbai immortalised in a movie, April 14).

On the cards now is a 65-day schedule as the cast and crew will film in real locations across Mumbai and Wai. “Rohit wants the film to feel real. Shooting at locations across the city will bring that raw energy,” revealed a source close to the production.
