For 63 years, Hema Malini has been right where she loves — in front of the camera. An enduring career as hers ought to be celebrated, and that’s exactly what she is doing with Hema Malini: Live in Concert, a show that will see singers and co-actors look back at her journey through her film songs. 

Ahead of the July 10 show, the veteran actor told mid-day that the idea came about while developing her book. Malini shared, “Author and RJ Anirudh Chawla is writing a book and stage tribute titled Hema Malini: The Story of Hema Malini in Her Own Words. In the book, he is writing about popular songs in my movies. While doing that, he realised it’s been [over] 60 years for me in the film industry. I have worked with so many artistes — from heroes and villains to directors and composers. I felt that I must honour the people who were part of my journey.”
