AI doesn’t override consent

Days after an AI-morphed video featuring Janhvi Kapoor and Jr NTR from Devara: Part 1 (2024) surfaced online, the actor has called its creation and circulation a “serious violation” and “criminal” misuse of technology. “Using technology criminally to objectify women and circulate fabricated content without their consent is a serious violation. It is almost equivalent to sexual assault,” she wrote. Janhvi also stressed that women’s boundaries must not be open to interpretation. Jr NTR had earlier called the video “vile” and “shameful beyond words”, warning of legal action against those responsible.
