Ram Gopal Varma is returning to Mumbai’s underworld with Police Company, backed by T-Series and headlined by Harshvardhan Rane as Daya Nayak. Inspired by the Mumbai Police’s crackdown on organised crime, the film revisits the violent period following the Dawood Ibrahim and Chhota Rajan split. RGV said, “Police Company is the story inspired by that squad based on one of its team members Daya Nayak.” He added that the special squad killed more than 300 gangsters between 1997 and 2004.
