Direction is a natural progression for many screenwriters. Writer Nikhil Mehrotra, who has penned Dangal (2016), Chhichhore (2019) and Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl (2020), is now taking his place behind the camera. It has been learnt that he will make his directorial debut with a slice-of-life film led by Mona Singh. A source close to the development reveals, “Nikhil has been toying with the idea of directing for a while. After years of writing emotionally rich stories, he felt that his latest script was personal enough to take the leap.”
