Akshaye Khanna's portrayal of Rehman Dakait became one of the most beloved performances in Dhurandhar, but casting director Mukesh Chhabra has recalled that the actor was initially reluctant about essaying an antagonist's role.

Why Akshaye Khanna initially said no to Rehman Dakait's role in Dhurandhar

During Shekhar Suman's show Shekhar Tonite, Mukesh Chhabra recounted approaching Akshaye for Aditya Dhar's two-part instalment Dhurandhar and revealed that his first reaction was far from impressive. "When I told the story to Akshaye bhai, he said, 'Paagal hogaya hai kya tu? Villain kyu karunga mai?'" Mukesh recalled.
