Tamil Nadu Leader of Opposition Udhayanidhi Stalin has come under fire over a remark made during a public meeting in Thanjavur. After facing backlash, the former Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister has now been arrested by the police from his residence in Chennai.

Following the remark, a complaint was filed by Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) on Tuesday. The Thanjavur district functionary Bhairavi, Thanjavur East police booked Udhayanidhi under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
