In the clip, he is seen making remarks about a woman’s surname, husband and accent, leaving netizens unhappy with his approach. Several users criticised the comedian, questioning his humour and calling out his remarks as disrespectful.

In the video, Gupta addresses a woman in the audience as “Yadavni”, referring to her Yadav surname. When she confirms the term but says she does not like being called that, he reacts with surprise and asks her, “These are your cultural roots, right?”
