Fitch raises India's FY27 GDP growth forecast to 6.9 per cent; expects RBI to hike rates

Given the inflationary pressures, it expects the Reserve Bank of India to increase the key lending rate or repo rate by 0.25 per cent in its October monetary policy meeting

Global rating agency Fitch Ratings on Wednesday raised India's GDP growth forecast for the current fiscal year to 6.9 per cent, from the earlier projected 6.4 per cent, noting the strong economic growth for the first quarter ended June amid the West Asia crisis, according to news agency PTI.
India's GDP grew at a better-than-expected 7.8 per cent during the April-June period of the current fiscal year as against 6.9 per cent a year ago.
