The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) says it has eliminated Maher Walid Omar Al-Husseini, a Hamas Nukhba cell commander accused of infiltrating the military base at Kibbutz Re'im during the October 7, 2023 attacks. According to the IDF, Al-Husseini continued planning attacks against Israeli soldiers and civilians after October 7. The military announced his killing on Friday, following two additional strikes in Gaza on Thursday that reportedly killed another Hamas commander linked to the October 7 attacks and a Palestinian Islamic Jihad member.
