Israel says it has killed Muhammad Abu Alwan, whom the IDF and Shin Bet identified as the head of Hamas’s Finance Department, in a joint operation in Khan Younis, southern Gaza. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defence Minister Israel Katz said the operation targeted Hamas’s financial network. Katz said Israel would continue targeting Hamas commanders, operatives and financial infrastructure while seeking to prevent the group from rebuilding its capabilities.
