The Israeli military says it has killed Hamas commander Ihab Jamil Abu Taqiya in an airstrike in Nuseirat, central Gaza. Israeli officials allege that Abu Taqiya was involved in holding multiple hostages, including Irish-Israeli girl Emily Hand, who was just eight years old when she was abducted during the October 7, 2023 attacks. The IDF also says another Hamas commander, Ibrahim Abu Oshaiba, was killed in the strike. According to the Israeli military, six Hamas fighters were killed across multiple strikes, including three commanders. Israel alleges that the militants were planning attacks against Israeli troops and civilians.
